Richard A. Merel received his B.S. in Science from the University of Illinois and his Juris Doctor summa cum laude from DePaul Law School. Rick is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and the U.S. District of Court for the Northern District of Illinois. His principal areas of practice include: real estate, banking, including representation of lenders and borrowers in transactional matters, commercial and asset-based loans, note purchase and sale transactions, mortgage foreclosures and workouts, representation of many local real estate investment and management firms including asset acquisitions, note acquisitions, financings and sales of commercial real estate located throughout the United States and significant experience in CMBS financing transactions, acquisitions, restructure and loan assumptions and modifications and corporate and commercial law.
